US Army Ret. SSG. Leonard Ray Early was born June 9, 1953 and, with his loving family by his side, he passed away on June 20, 2015.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his loving wife Lori Early, son Jae Early, daughter Staci Bynum, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nLen loved serving his country and enlisted into the Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served 3 years. Aftering leaving the Marines, Len then enlisted in the US Army and served over 20 years where he was an MP and tanker and has done his patriotic duty for our country for over 28 years\r\n\r\nDuring the course of his life he was also a member of the National Guard, where he worked the riots in LA in the 80's, was a member of the Kingsville County sheriff Mounted Patrol, a volunteer firefighter in his home time, served as a police officer for the Department of Defense and coached for his children's and grandchildren's many sporting activities.\r\n\r\nAnyone who knew Len knew that he loved his music and making people laugh. He wrote, taught and played music most of his life. He also enjoyed acting and performing and was very proud of the shows he put on through out Texas with his buffalos (bison) "Lakoda" and "Little Bill". Len was born to be an entertainer and brought joy and laughter to so many people through his music and silly antics.\r\n\r\nLeonard truly loved and trusted the lord and was a man of great integrity. He will be missed by all that knew him and will be forever in our hearts.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Monday, 6-29-15 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapel, 1214 Mulberry, Bandera, TX. Services will be 6-30-15 at 10:00 am at Grimes Funeral Home followed by a graveside services at 2:00 pm at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
