Lawrence (Larry) Earl Ross, Sr., 80, of Tarpley, Texas passed away in San Antonio, Texas September 17, 2020. He was born in Utopia, Texas December 22, 1939 to Oscar and Stella Ross. \r\n\r\nHe graduated from Medina High School and following his service to The United States Navy, he married Linda Jane Pardue Ross on October 5, 1963. Larry went on to work for AT&T for 38 years. Upon retirement, he settled at his home in Tarpley, Texas. \r\n\r\nAs a close family friend said upon hearing of his passing, "Larry was a gruff, stubborn teddy bear. He loved his wife and adored his children. He loved the Hill Country. He had a great sense of humor, a giving heart and was a loyal friend to those who took the time to get close to him."\r\n\r\nLarry was preceded in death by his wife and lifelong "sweetie pie" Linda Jane Pardue Ross and his daughter, Donna Ann Ross McCutcheon. He is survived by his children, Lawrence Earl Ross, Jr. of Estes Park, Colorado, his daughter Melissa Lynn Ross Henderson and husband John of Ft Myers, Florida, and his son David Neal Ross and wife Donna of Helotes, Texas. Grandchildren Ashleigh, Zachary, Fiona, Sydney and Olivia and numerous great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\n A viewing will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020, 5 pm -7 pm, Grimes Funeral Chapels, Bandera, Texas. Graveside services will be Monday, September 21, 2020, 11:00 am at Tarpley Cemetery.
