With a sad heart, on January 24, 2017, we said our goodbyes to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. \r\n \r\nA viewing will be held 5-7 PM, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be 10 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Interment will be at the family cemetery in Hunt. A potluck dinner is planned after at Crider's. Pallbearers will be Dakota Moore, Joseph Aguilar, John Allen Henderson, Randy Bunch, Grant Griffin and John Vandergriff. \r\n \r\nLaVerne was born November 29, 1928 on the banks of the Guadalupe River to Walter and Audrey Crider, founders of Crider's Rodeo and Dancehall. She was the youngest of six children in a Goldstar Family. She graduated from Tivy High School in 1946 and worked at the Peterson Creamery in Kerrville. She also spent many nights working at Crider's where she met the love of her life.\r\n \r\nShe married Bill Richard Moore on July 26, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Hunt. They spent their years together ranching. First, at the Love Creek Ranch in Medina, TX, then on to Eldorado, TX, finally ending up at the Chittium Ranch (Bowman Ranch) in Leakey, TX. They retired in 1986, and moved back to their small ranch in Medina.\r\n \r\nLaVerne became sole owner of Crider's Rodeo and Dancehall in 1995, carrying on her parents legacy.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Moore; parents, Walter and Audrey Crider; brothers, Wilton, Walter Jr., Gene and Harlan Dale Crider; and her sister, Elaine Crider Hurt.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her twin sons, Bill (Tracy) Moore and Bob (Carmen) Moore; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Megan and Rusty Bruinsma and son Jessen; Morgan and Taylor Riley and sons, Easton and Jaxon; Dakota James Moore; Chris and Sandra Aguilar and daughters, Didi and Yanette; Joey Aguilar and his fiancé Lori Torres and kids; also, many nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Central Texas Rodeo Connection.\r\n
