Larry Dean Watson, 57, of Lakehills, passed away on February 25, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in El Dorado, KS, to Gerald and Sharron Watson on July 12, 1959.He married Kim Whiteside on June 3, 1995 in El Dorado, KS.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from Bluestem High School in Leon, KS. He started working while still in high school at Kansas Aluminum, then Sherwin Williams Glass, opened his own business, Watson Glass. Next he enjoyed his travels while working for Halliburton and Hydrochem. He then went to work for Kaneb Pipeline, Valero, NuStar Energy, Hiland Partners and Tesoro Corp. having worked as a pipeline controller from 1985 to present. He also made an impact in the lives of Matt Guthrie, Maggie Ross and Kristin Guthrie when he had the opportunity to be father to them, That bond has remained.\r\n\r\nHe enjoyed volunteering and helping in his local community. He was the co-chair of the gumbo contest of Lakehills Cajun Festival. He was very proud of his 3 daughters and 10 grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was one of the song leaders.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his mother, Sharron Watson.\r\n\r\nLarry is survived by his wife of 21 years Kim Watson of Lakehills; father, Gerald Watson of El Dorado, KS; daughters, Christy (Scott) Baty of Salem, OR , Kimberly (Troy) Tyler of Salem, OR, and Jenny Watson of Lakehills; sisters, Carrie (Eldon) Davis of El Dorado, KS and Nancy (David) Weber of Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, Ethan, Brynna, Tanner, Cloey, Kaydence, McKayla, McKenzie, Kyndal, Karly and Carson.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with Mr. Martin Smith, officiating. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to the Bandera Church of Christ.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
