"Spoiled Rotten" owner Lanelle Lancette: Valued Faith, Family and Friendship\r\n\r\nShirley Lanelle Lancette, age 66, of Pipe Creek, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2017, at her home in Pipe Creek. She was born to Neva and Wendell Porter on Nov. 3, 1951. She married Dean Lancette on Valentine's Day, 1978, in San Antonio.\r\n\r\nLanelle attended school at Baskin Elementary, Longfellow Junior High, and Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas. She earned an Associate's Degree in Interior Design at San Antonio College, before becoming a life-time beautician and owner of the beauty salon, Spoiled Rotten in Bandera, Texas. Although a skillful hairstylist who highlighted, permed, cut, and dyed; her true genius was delighting in her customers' tales and travails. She listened intently and interestedly to all. She discovered how unique each person was. She appreciated the God-given talents and persistence of hardworking individuals, loved hearing nostalgic memories on bygone days; but reserved a special place in her heart for those who felt like life had dealt them an unfair blow. She reminded these of better days ahead. \r\n\r\nFor any good thing she did, she credited her parents, Wendell and Neva Porter, who preceded her in death in 2004 and 2008 respectively. \r\n\r\nLanelle is survived by her son, Christopher Scott Lancette, his wife, Kim Lopresti Lancette, and their son, Lanelle's grandson, Aden; brother, Richard Brian Porter and his wife, Brenda; sister Sharon Porter Cuoco and her husband, Nicolas; and brother Thomas Alan Porter, Ph.D. She is also survived by her niece Lisa Stewart, husband Jeremy and their children; nephew Mark Porter and Karisha Gomez; niece Sarah Porter and Jeffrey Leitzell; and niece Cammy Cuoco and fiancée Eric Martinez.\r\n\r\nAs a strong, single woman, Lanelle dared to create a space where people felt welcomed, at home, and uplifted.She valued faith, family, and friendship and treated others as she wanted to be treated. \r\n\r\nPlease join Lanelle's family and friends at the Visitation at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 13, 2017, followed by a Memorial at Noon, at the Grimes Funeral Chapel, 1214 Mulberry St., Bandera, TX.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to thank Robin and Mark Bonner, and the staff at Spoiled Rotten, for their continued support of our mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, and friend. \r\n\r\n
