Lana Leatrice Baker died on Sunday August 26, 2018 peacefully surrounded by family after a 3 year battle with cancer at the age of 74. \r\n\r\nLana is survived by her husband, Alva (Sonny) Baker; children, Brett Baker and wife Sharla of Pasadena, Texas, Marlene Baker and Mary Baker of Kerrville, Texas, brothers, Jeffrey (Butch) Stiles and wife Sheila of Center Point, Texas, Bruce Stiles and wife Debbie of Rosharon, Texas, and 6 granddaughters; Krista, Kaitlyn, Kaley, Courtney, Cameron, and Haley.\r\n\r\nLana was born on February 11, 1944 in Pasadena, Texas to Marion Leatrice and Herman Stiles. As a young woman she was a dancer with "The Jeff Underwood Dancers" appearing with her dance partner, Gene Sims, on "The Larry Kane Show" and many other events in Houston, Texas. Later she attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas.\r\n\r\nShe married her high school sweetheart, Sonny, in August of 1964. Lana enjoyed being a home maker and will be remembered for her work taking care of children, as well as her years working for Kerr County Day Care.\r\n\r\nLana was a generous and dedicated individual who loved spending time with her family. Being a mom and grandmother to her grandchildren were her favorite things in life. Lana attended First Methodist Church of Kerrville, Texas. She loved the church and enjoyed participating in Bible Studies.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to acknowledge and graciously thank the staff at Peterson Regional Medical Center and Hospice, as well as, the staff at Riverhills Rehab Center.\r\n\r\nA funeral service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. A reception and family visitation will be held immediately following the service at the First Methodist Church of Kerrville. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lana's life. A private burial service will be held at a later time. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to Peterson Hospice or the charity of your choice.\r\n\r\n
