Kristen Lea Kemp, 49 of Kerrville, passed away on Sunday August 19th, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Pasadena, Texas to Harold and Bobbie Perry on September 24, 1968. She was married to Russell Kemp on June 19th, 1993 in Houston, Texas.\r\n\r\nKristen was a child of God and loved the Lord. She brightened and improved everyone she met. She was much loved by her family and friends who knew of her grace, love, superior organization skills and compassion for others. \r\n\r\nShe went to High School at Dobie High School in Houston. She graduated from Harding University with her Bachelor of Education. Additionally, she graduated from the University of Houston with her Masters of Education. She worked as a teacher and educator for 15 plus years in Houston, Sugar Land and the Kerrville Independent School District. The job she loved the most and was the most challenging/rewarding was being a homemaker for the Kemp family. She made a special home for her husband and children. \r\n\r\nShe was member of the Riverside Church of Christ. She was involved in many philanthropic endeavors including Operation Starkey and on the Board of KPSF (Kerrville Public School Foundation).\r\n\r\nKristen Lea Kemp was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Perry.\r\n\r\nKristen Lea Kemp is survived by her husband, Russell Kemp; her children, Jonathan and Samantha; her brothers, Kevin Perry and Keith Perry; and her father, Harold Perry.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be at 5-7 pm, Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Riverside Church of Christ.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Riverside Church of Christ with Jacob Hawk of Faith Village Church of Christ officiating. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Hope for Haiti's Children | 12020 Southwick Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45241 and the Creede Church of Christ | 654 Airport Rd, Creede, CO 81130. \r\n\r\nThe family of Kristen Kemp wishes to extend our sincere thanks to MD Anderson, Peterson Hospice and all of her loving friends. \r\n\r\n
