Kitty Barrett

Kitty Jean Barrett, 85, of Lakehills Texas passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 7, 2018. She was born on February 10, 1932.\r\n\r\nIn 1949, Kitty graduated from Hot Wells High School in San Antonio Texas. She also attended the University of Corpus Christi. She married Leland David Barrett on March 17, 1951 in San Antonio Texas. Kitty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. She was involved in church activities and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boerne Texas since 2003. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, gardening and was particularly fond of African Violets. \r\n\r\nKitty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Benton McGaughy and Kitty Walker McGaughy.\r\n\r\nKitty is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Leland David Barrett, daughters Linda Barrett Mills (Mike) and Karen Barrett, grandsons Jason Benke (Tiffany), Michael Benke (Jessica), David Gibson, Justin Mills (Shannah), great grandchildren Chance Burford Gibson, Donna Thorton Gibson, and Jake Friedman Benke.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Boerne Texas, with Reverend Mike Meadows officiating.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Jason Benke, Michael Benke, David Gibson, Justin Mills, Chance Burford Gibson and Donna Thornton Gibson.\r\n\r\nThe family of Kitty Barrett wishes to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Brookdale Hospice for their wonderful support during this difficult time.
