Kenneth R. Miner, 78, passed away on May 1, 2016 at his home in Bandera. He was born in Newark, OH to Carl Eugene and Ethel Mae Miner on Sept. 22, 1937. He married Bette Lindsley on April 2, 1956 in Northwood, Iowa.\r\n\r\nHe was a Veteran of the Vietnam war in the Air Force and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the National Defense Service medal, 2 Silver medals and 10 Bronze medals. He was a member of the VFW since 1993, and the DAV since 1998.\r\n\r\nKen was preceded in death by his mother, father, and a sister.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Bette; son, Kevin and wife Angel of KS; daughter, Kim and fiance Lewis of KS; grandchildren, 14; great-grandchildren, 8; sisters, Sue Headley of Florida, Sandy Rees of Ohio and brother, Mike Miner of OH. He will also be greatly missed by dear friends, Dana Simmons, Diane Clark and Tina Kopecki.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice, Audie Murphy or Lakeshore Volunteer Fire Department.\r\n\r\n
