Kay Schneider

Kay Giannini Schneider (nee Spencer), age 71, passed away on February 3, 2019 in Fredericksburg. She was born in Fredericksburg to Elton and June Spencer on June 3, 1947. She married Harry Schneider on November 9, 1990 in Kerrville.\r\n\r\nShe held the honor of being the first female firefighter for the Harper Volunteer Fire Department and had many jobs throughout her life, including secretary, notary public, cashier, and preschool teacher. In her younger years, she sang for guests at the Inn of the Hills Hotel in Kerrville.\r\n\r\nMrs. Schneider is survived by her spouse, Harry Schneider, her children, Monica Shaughnessy, Mario Giannini, Debbie Burress, and Michael Schneider, her siblings, John Spencer, Sally Yett, and Joe Spencer, and her grandchildren, Destiny, Fiona, TJ, Hannah, Caleb, and Jacob. She will be dearly missed.\r\n\r\nSince Mrs. Schneider was a lifelong animal lover, the family asks that memorial donations be made on her behalf to the Freeman-Fritts Animal Welfare Society of Kerr County, a no-kill animal shelter (830-257-4144; 515 Spur 100, Kerrville, TX, 78028).\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be private.
