Kathleen Towell

Kathleen Towell passed away on August 26, 2020 at her home in Lakehills, Texas. She was born in Fort Worth Texas to Eugene and Patsy Fouts on December 28, 1948. She married Ivan Towell on November 9, 1984.\r\nKathleen was a graduate of Polly High School and after a forty year break, went on to get her college degree in Liberal Arts in 2016. She joined the USAF Reserves in 1983 at the tender age of 32, where she was an Air Reserve Technician, and also where she met her husband, Ivan. After traveling with Ivan for twenty years during his military career, they settled in San Antonio, Texas. Kathleen ended her civil service career at the Audie Murphy VA hospital as the Champ VA coordinator for all of South Texas, helping veterans. A job she really enjoyed. She retired in 2012.\r\nKathleen loved to travel, do cross stitch, read, play bingo and work on family genealogy. Kathleen and Ivan fostered many children over the years.\r\nShe is preceded in death by both parents, Patsy and Eugene Fouts.\r\nKathleen is survived by her husband, Ivan who were together for thirty seven years. She has nine wonderful children; Shelly and husband, Sam, Kelly and husband Rick, Marcy and husband Neil, Holly and husband Kemp, Kimberly and husband Alfred, Marie Bianca and partner Jeremy, Evan Joseph, Josh and partner Tara, Daniel; brother, David and wife Ester; sister, Nancy and husband Craig, baby sister, Susan; stepfather, Dale Cocklin; fifteen grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and mother hen to many; Gerald Sims, first husband and father to her four oldest children.\r\nThanks go out to her dear friend Barbara Canelas, Dr. Armando Sanchez (family physician for 16 years), Start Center For Cancer Care, Lisa, hospice nurse and Heart To Heart Hospice.\r\nA Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 5, 3:00 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 1214 Mulberry St. Bandera, Texas 78003, officiated by her brother-in-law, Craig Roland, followed by light refreshments at her home, 222 Michael Manor, Lakehills, Texas 78063.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family is asking a donation in Kathleen's name be made to Silver Sage Meals on Wheels, Bandera, Texas, online or at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n
