Karla Kersten

Karla Joy Kersten, 65 years old, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away May 2, 2019 in Kerrville. She was born July 11, 1953 to Evelyn Anderson and Donald Willard in Estherville, Iowa. She married Charles Kersten on November 11, 2006 in Tierra Linda, Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\nShe went to high school in Guam and moved back to the states to finish in California. After high school, she eventually found her passion in Real Estate, first starting in California and then finished here in The Hill Country at RE/MAX Kerrville with almost 40 years in the business. She received many awards over the years for her hard work and was known for her integrity and honesty by all who worked with her.\r\n\r\nKarla was preceded in death by her fathers, Donald Willard and Clifford Anderson and niece, Jennifer Matzen.\r\n\r\nKarla is survived by her loving husband, Charles Kersten; her children, Daniel Cossu (Kimberly Bowen), Shelley Wood (Don), Kate Farrell (Tom) and Michael Kersten (Erika Dorsey); Mom, Evelyn Anderson; sisters, Kristine Hirl (Clifford), Deb Sperry (Wayne) and Donita Willard; grandchildren, Liam, Dyllan, Whitney, Corey, Riley, Zane, Kyle, Quinn, Sloan and Clint; nieces and nephews, Angela Walters (Michael), Cliff Hirl (Dana), Andrew Frazier (Joshua Hammond) and Chloe Rollins; great-nieces, Shilah, Sara, Kaylee, Brittanie and Brianna; and great-great-nieces, Karington, Scarlett, Callie, Bella and Allison.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n\r\nDonations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Tierra Linda VFD.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Peterson Medical Hospice, Dr. Barrington, the staff at Texas Oncology and to all of the many friends that have reached out to the family during this time.
