Karen Louise Queen

October 6, 1944 — September 9, 2023

Karen Louise Queen, age 78, of Bandera, TX passed away on 9/9 2023. She was born in Denison, TX. to Mary Louise Underwood and Clifford Aaron Maston on October 6th, 1944.

She was a student at Clinton High School in Clinton, OK, where she married Ronald Gene Queen, her enduring love for 44 years, on June 2nd, 1962. She was a wife of an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. She established the Queens Janitorial Service in Oklahoma City, and relocated it to Bandera, TX, where it operated for 20 years, while simultaneously managing Maston’s Rentals, her father's rental company. She also worked as a freelance painter for many years and was involved in the Medina Community Church, the Bandera Art Club, and the Bandera Jailhouse Ministry. She was blessed to have six joyous years with Clinton Lee Bock, after the passing of her first husband.

Karen had many talents. At an early age, she discovered her love for art. She enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, and crocheting. To share her fondness for painting she spent her time teaching others how to paint, including her mother and her sister. She was well recognized for both her artistic talent and her passion for animals. Over the course of her life, she nurtured and rescued many baby animals. Additionally, she was a worldwide traveler, who visited several different nations. Karen spent a significant portion of her life in the Middle East with her daughter and her family.

She was preceded by her mother Mary Louise Underwood, her father Clifford Aaron Maston, sister Genevia Nell Smith, and husbands Ronald Gene Queen and Clinton Lee Bock.

Karen leaves her daughter Brenda L. Queen, sons Danial G. Queen, and Clifford A. Queen. Her son in law Faisal Alotaibi, daughter in laws Susan, and Estella Queen. Her ten grandchildren, James Hamilton, Stephanie Queen, Heather Queen, Savanna Queen, Virginia Queen, Caren Queen, Salma Alotaibi, Salem Alotaibi, Jennifer, and Duston Gaddy. Daughter in law Laurie Haleta, her sons Andre, and Sasha Haleta. Her several great grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. She was the 7th Louise of her generation passing the middle name to her daughter Brenda Queen and granddaughter Salma Alotaibi. She has both her granddaughter Caren Queen and great-granddaughter Karen Hamilton named after her. She was proudly known as ‘’Grandma Queen’’ in the family. Karen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She will always be our favorite person, and we shall miss her dearly.
