Karen Burris

Karen Lee Burris, age 76 passed away at her home in Bandera, Texas on Friday, December 28, 2018.\r\n\r\nShe was born August 24, 1942 to Theda Abbott Needels and Charles Kenneth Needels in Enid, Oklahoma. The family moved to San Antonio when Karen was a young child. She graduated from Harlandale High School and later from San Antonio College with an Associates Degree in nursing. In 2009, she retired from Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.\r\n\r\nKaren was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Burris, Sr.; and her son, Donald Burris, Jr. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by daughters, Theresa Wilkerson and husband Jeff, Sr. and Jeannette Jeffers; brothers, Earl Wayne Needels and Charles Kenneth Needels, Jr. and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Jeff Wilkerson and wife Cara and Justin Wilkerson and wife Melissa; great-grandchildren, Kinley and Kloe; Haven, Kahlan and Owen; as well as other extended family members, neighbors and treasured friends.\r\n\r\nA service will take place Monday, December 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Bandera Cemetery.
