Karen Ann Bishop was born on September 5, 1951 to Colonel Paul and Kathleen Marshall in Fort Meade, Maryland. She passed away on December 19, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, Texas.\r\n\r\nKaren graduated from SHAPE American High School in Brussels, Belgium and received a degree in Special Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a Masters in Education from Southwest Texas State University. She spent the majority of her life in Kerrville, Texas, where she raised her two daughters and served as a Special Education Administrator at Ingram ISD. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her mother, Kathleen Marshall, her sister, Patt Marshall Konopka (Ken), her brothers, Paul (Mary Ann) and Robert Marshall, her daughters, Lesley Schick (Barrett) and Brenda Sutter (Charlie), and her granddaughters, Taylor, Riley and Peyton Schick and her nieces Scarlett and Shannon Marshall and nephews Robert and Paul Marshall.\r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson, in Kerrville, Texas at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, with a visitation preceding the service at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to express it's gratitude to the physicians, nurses and other staff of St. Joseph's Hospital for the care that they gave to Karen.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her honor to one of her favorite charities, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org and the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org. \r\n
