Kalani Kirk Hausman

Kalani Kirk Hausman, 57, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Vanderpool, TX.  Kalani was born on June 2, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Ralph and Barbara Hausman. 

He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Information Technology. His career was varied, and he was known for his numerous books on information technology, enterprise and security architecture, project management, and 3D printing. He took great pride in his role as the Assistant Commandant in Information Technology for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. Additionally, Kalani was an adjunct professor online for several universities, including the University of Maryland and American InterContinental University.  Kalani had many hobbies, including 3D printing, game playing, reading books (especially science fiction), and playing chess. He also loved to take things apart to see how they worked.  

Kalani is survived by his children, Jonathan and Morgan Cook-Hausman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kaimilani Hausman; father, Ralph Hausman, PhD; and grandparents, Lowell and Janie Tubbs, Harold and Dorothy Hausman, and Cecil Cotton. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Hausman; his sister, Fawn Sorgi, and her spouse, Grant Sorensen; as well as many extended family members. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Vanderpool Cemetery in Vanderpool, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dr. Ralph Hausman TEDA (Texas Educational Diagnostician Association) Scholarship Fund in Kalani Hausman’s memory.  

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel.
