June W. Spencer went home to be with her Lord on September 3, 2016, at the age of 94. June was born November 25, 1921, to John and Ida Mae West in Cheapside, Texas. In 1938, her family moved to Eldorado, Texas, where she graduated high school. She met Elton Spencer there and they were married September 21, 1940. Elton and June moved to Harper, Texas, that same year and she has been a member of the Harper community ever since. June was a full time housewife and mother. She also found time to work at Lehmann's, Kerrville Livestock Auction, Kerrville State Hospital and in 1974 she went to work as a Teacher's Aide at Harper Independent School District until her retirement. June not only had a great love for her family but she loved all of the children that she came in contact with over the years at HISD. She was a lifetime member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas.\r\n \r\nJune is preceded in death by her father John West, her mother Ida Mae Bricker West, her husband Elton Spencer, her brothers Horace and Donald West, her sister Jewell Miller and a daughter Lisa Lynnette Santis.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by a sister, Johni Mae Easterwood of Austin; children, John and Linda Spencer of Harper, Sally and Charles Yett of Colorado Springs, CO, Joe and Karen Spencer of Harper, Kay and Harry Schneider of Kerrville. Grandchildren are Jason Spencer, Julie Taylor, Marcie Rhodes, April Gudenrath, Jennifer Fountaine, Charles Yett, Monica Zupke, Mario Giannini, Michael Schneider, Debbie Burress, Brenda Blair, John Spencer Jr., Toni Slater, John Allen Lamkin, Kelly Smith, Janet Llanas and Judy McCaleb. Great grandchildren are Wyatt, Macey, Mason, Spencer, Travis, Maya, Avery, Colten, Rachael, Bridger, Fiona, Justine, Destiny, Jacob, Hannah, TJ, Caleb, Stephanie, Dylan, Haley, Corey, Angela, Ashley, Christian, John Luke, Aaron, Keegan, Kinsey, Erin, Skyler, Brigette and Brandon. Great-great grandchildren are Alexis, Ryland, Gavin, Julian and Jude. And numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nViewing will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels with a visitation with family from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 2 PM with interment at the Harper Community Cemetery.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Harper Community Library, Peterson Hospice, or the charity of your choice.\r\n
