Julie Ann Schlichting, age 78 of Kerrville, Texas passed away on May 8, 2017 at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Frank and Viola Lies on March 2, 1939. She married Lawrence Charles Schlichting in St. Cloud, Minnesota on September 5, 1959.\r\n \r\nJulie went to nursing school in Little Falls, Minnesota. She continued her education at the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia and was a nurse anesthetist until she retired and moved to Kerrville, Texas in 2005.\r\n \r\nAfter retirement, she enjoyed church activities at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville where she was a member and volunteer. She was a weekly volunteer at the Raphael Clinic. She was an accomplished quilter and belonged to area quilt guilds where she participated in quilt shows and workshops. She loved to travel and had recently returned from a cruise to New Zealand and Australia.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her four children, Daniel (Jacqueline) Schlichting, Uvalde, Texas, Peter (Susan) Schlichting, Baldwin, Wisconsin, Laure Schmidt, Center City, Minnesota, and Linda (Jason) Blodgett, Ellsworth, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Janice Fritz, Joan Erpelding and Susie Lies. \r\n \r\nJulie's husband, Larry, and her parents preceded her in death.\r\n \r\nFuneral Mass will be Monday, May 15th, 2pm, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, Texas. Viewing and visitation will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Jefferson Street in Kerrville from 4-6 pm on Sunday, May 14th. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6pm on Sunday following visitation.\r\n \r\nFollowing services, her body will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at the Catholic Cemetery in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A gravesite service will be performed at a later date to be determined.\r\n
