Joy Lou Bradford died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Miami, Florida while visiting one of her sons. \r\n \r\nJoy was born in McAllen, Texas on August 25, 1935 to Emilo and Nadine Van Zandt, both of whom preceded her in death.\r\n \r\nJoy attended Baytown Lee High School in Baytown, Texas and there after attended the University of Texas where she met and married Herb Gray and was blessed with three sons.\r\n \r\nHer second marriage was to Len Bradford on February 9, 1985 in Dallas, Texas. She was employed by Chevron and later Cal-Tex Oil in Irving, Texas.\r\n \r\nUpon Len's retirement, they spent much time traveling throughout the U.S. in their RV. In 1998, they relocated to Kerrville where Joy very quickly became active in her church, and many other local organizations such as Meals-on-Wheels, the Nature Center, volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital, several Bridge organizations, the Center for Fitness and a member of DAR. A charming and delightful lady, rich with dear friends, she will be dearly missed but remembered with much love.\r\n \r\nJoy was preceded in death by her son, Brian David Gray in 2006.\r\n \r\nJoy is survived by her husband, Len Bradford of 32 years; her beloved sons, Kevin Gray of Miami, Florida and Steve Gray and wife, Leischen of San Antonio; a granddaughter, Stephanie Gray of San Antonio; and a great grandson, Christopher.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be at 11 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, Texas with Rev. Donna Magee officiating, and a visitation will follow at the Church.\r\n \r\nThe family requests no flowers. Instead, if anyone wishes, Joy would have appreciated memorial donations in her honor to be made to First United Methodist Church, Kerrville, Texas or a charity of their choice.\r\n
