Joseph Dodd

SMSGT. Joseph N. Dodd, USAF Ret., age 86 passed away in a Kerrville care facility on Thursday, January 4, 2018.\r\n\r\nHe was born Joseph Newton Dodd on November 4, 1931 to Minnie Keeling Dodd and John Dodd in Yellville, Arkansas and grew up there and received his education until he left at age 17 to join the Air Force. Joseph served his country honorably in the Air Force for over twenty years. He was united in marriage with Kathleen Anderson on August 6, 1960 in Fort Bragg, California. They have been residents of Bandera county since 1991. \r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Joyce and Katie and his twin sister Flora; He was also preceded by his brother Wilburn. Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years Kathleen, sons Lance Gregory Dodd and David Joseph Dodd and his wife Carole. Also surviving is his sister Gladys Wood and grandchildren Arthur, Alizee and Margaux as well as extended family members, neighbors and friends.\r\n\r\nA graveside service will be held at Vanderpool Cemetery on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Full Military Honors.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Vanderpool Volunteer Fire Department or Utopia EMS.
