Johnny "Joey" DeLeon, age 36, of Kerrville, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Kerrville. He was born in Fredericksburg, Texas to Steve and Irma Garcia Deleon on August 23, 1978.\r\n \r\nHe worked as a truck driver for United Van Lines for 13 years, Lowe's for 3 years and Redline Exhaust & Coating until the time of his death.\r\n\r\nJoey loved the road and listening to those songs that made real sense. Being on the road for Redline and working for Lowe's was just what he loved to do. His passion for the Cowboys, Elvis Presley and Mexican music were evident in his everyday life. Hot Rods, watching his son play football at Tivy and being on the road gave him so much joy. Joey was a loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend to so many.\r\n\r\nIn his words "I'm gonna tell you exactly how it is!" He lived by these words and made life long friends with all whom he came in contact with. His love of all things old made you think we was from an older era. Some of the songs that expressed his life's style included: Green Onions - Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Freebird - Pledging my Love - Rock Around the Clock and Ring of Fire are only a few titles that give you a glimpse into his life's passions.\r\n\r\nJoey leaves behind Steve and Olga DeLeon, Irma and Joe Garza; sister, Barbara Olvedo; brothers Rocky DeLeon (Amy) and Anthony DeLeon(Julie); son, Miguel DeLeon and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be 9-11 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville. \r\n\r\nServices will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Anthony DeLeon, Rocky DeLeon, Miguel DeLeon, C.L. Vernor, Royal Washington and Arturo Verastegui.\r\n\r\n\r\n
