John Stienmetz

John T. Stienmetz of Lakehills, Texas passed away on August 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by the people who loved him. He was born in Oregon, Illinois on January 16, 1947, to John William Stienmetz and Lena Marie Stienmetz (Nachitgal).

He graduated highschool and went on to serve our Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After serving our Country, John went on to become a truck driver, traveling all the United States and coming home with stories to share with his family.

Whenever someone thinks about John, they will often mention how funny John was, thinking back to the many stores that were told about his travels. John was a humble man who put others before himself, he will forever live on in the hearts and memories of the many people whose lives he touched.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Steinmetz and sister, Jean Mann.

He is survived by his sons, Steven Stienmetz and Jeffrey Stienmetz; sister, Mary Lundquist; brother, Ted Stienmetz; grandchildren, Brent Stienmetz, Benjamin Stienmetz, Nathan Stienmetz, Chole Stienmetz, and Trevor Stienmetz ; as well as numerous friends that became family to him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
