John Edward Jordan III, 69, of Center Point, Texas, passed away after a long struggle with COPD on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at his residence with his wife and friends by his side.\r\n \r\nJohn was born July 2, 1947 in Torrance, CA, to John Edward Jordan, Jr. and Winifred Maxine Herring Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis and Tom Jordan; sister, Lucy Jordan; and son, John Edward Jordan IV.\r\n \r\nStriking up conversations with strangers was one of John's many talents, and he used it often. John was a compassionate nurse, a hard-working carpenter, a beloved husband, a dedicated father and trusting friend. His favorite things included long talks with his little girl, Rachel, giving his wife, Judy, a hard time, driving through town with his dog, Jim Jesse, and finally and maybe most importantly, California and the Pacific Ocean. \r\n \r\nHe leaves behind his wife, Judy Jordan; his two daughters, Lydia Gearhart and Rachel Bluemel, and her husband, Tayler; his two sons, Matt Clemer and Tom Jordan, wife, Angela; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Budd; his grandchildren, Melissa Flores, and her husband, Jay, Rocky Grider, Ryan and Casey Jordan, and John Conor Bluemel; and his great-grandchildren, Derek and Jade Flores. \r\n \r\nMemorial services will be at a later date.
