John E. Jenschke, 78, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2021 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Hondo, Texas to Ruby Sprott Jenschke and Erwin Jenschke on July 3, 1942. He graduated from Bandera High School in 1960 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He worked at Bandera Electric Cooperative from March 20, 1961 until he retired after 40 years, on March 20, 2001. John Jenschke was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Erwin Jenschke. He is survived by his brother, William Jenschke of Houston, Texas; sister, Mary Itz (James) of Kerrville, Texas; nieces, Michelle Bretzke (Clint) of Georgetown, Texas, Christy Rakowitz (Randall) of Salado, Texas, Karrie Thompson (Dewayne) of New Braunfels and Anne Hirschman (Michael) of Houston, Texas; nephew, Cody Kelly (Corene) of Houston, Texas; six great nieces, five great nephews and one great, great nephew. A Viewing will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Bandera, Texas. A private family burial will be held later. Honorary pallbearers are James Itz, Clint Bretzke, Randall Rakowitz, Dewayne Thompson, Cody Kelly, and Dylan Thompson.
