John Ernest Hamilton, 66, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2025. He was born in San Antonio to Damon Rose Hamilton and Mary Ann Collins Hamilton on August 25, 1958.
John graduated from Boerne High School in the Class of 1977. He then attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, where he majored in Range Animal Science and Geology from 1977 to 1981.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Damon and Mary Ann Hamilton, his stepmother Janette Hamilton; his grandparents, JW and Ruby Hamilton, and Ramon and Hazel Collins; his uncles, Charlie Hamilton, Joe Hamilton, and Bill King; his aunts, Dorothy Collins and Daisy King; and his cousins, David Hamilton, Suzanne Hamilton, and Peggy Collins.
He is survived by his sister, Debbie Carson; his nephews, John Carson (fiancée Crystal) and Chris Carson (wife Sarah); his niece, Ann Marie Graviss (husband Nick) and their son, Silas; his uncle, Mike Collins; his aunts, Pat Jones and Marylu Hamilton; and his cousins, Chuck Hamilton, Tammy King (partner Al), Joe Hamilton Jr., Darrell Hamilton, Daniel Hamilton, Sean Hamilton, Mike Collins (wife Gloria), Mandy Collins, Roy Collins, and Michelle Storch (husband David).
John worked hard throughout his life and in his retirement years he raised and sold Border Collies. He made a name for himself, with customers coming from as far away as Colorado to buy puppies from his bloodline. He loved sharing his life with his dogs. He had many great friends and enjoyed lots of fun times throughout his life.
John enjoyed restoring classic automobiles and was most recently working on a 1967 Chevrolet truck. He was the owner and creator of Texantique in Bandera, Texas, and had previously worked in various roles, including working with his father’s business in San Antonio, TX, worked many jobs in Alpine, TX, a sales associate in electronics in Kerrville, TX, a sales associate at Koepp Chevrolet in La Vernia, Texas, and in sales and management positions at Silverado Sales in Boerne, Texas.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered support during this difficult time. May John's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
