John R. "Randy" Dunn passed from this life on February 15, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.\r\n \r\nHe was born on November 4, 1952 in Abilene, TX to John Leon Dunn and Beverly A. Dunn.\r\n \r\nRandy moved with his family at an early age to Brownsville, TX where he finished his schooling and joined the Brownsville Police Department. After a distinguished career of almost 30 years, he retired as a Police Commander. He then served a term as trustee for Brownsville ISD before subsequently retiring in the beautiful Hill Country of Kerrville, TX.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Dunn of Kerrville; his mother, Beverly A. Barke of Kerrville; son, Andrew Dunn (Susie) of Beeville; daughter, Christa Avalos (Will) of Houston; step daughter, Erica Gonzalez of Austin; step son, Joseph Parra of Brownsville; nine grandchildren; brother, Charles Dunn (Des) of Lubbock and Lloyd Dunn (Robbie) of San Antonio; nieces, Kylie Dunn and Macie Dunn of San Antonio.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held at Riverside Church of Christ at 10 AM on Friday, February 20, 2015 officiated by Jacob Hawk.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held in Brownsville, TX on March 28, 2015 at 10 AM at Darling Mouser Funeral Home.\r\n \r\nHeartfelt gratitude to Ave Maria Hospice, Tom, Delores, Shirley, Grete, Dr. Leigh A.
