Johanna B. Tittle, 103, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Kerrville, Texas. \r\n\r\nJohanna was born June 8, 1915 in Electra, Texas, to the late Frank Neitzler and Mary Neitzler. She married the love of her life, Loyd Tittle, on December 7, 1935.\r\n\r\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in July of 1986, and her sisters, Elizabeth Neitzler, Clara Neitzler and Catherine Neitzler. She is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and their families, including Betty Ann Neitzler, James Neitzler, Mary Ann Schoppa, Michael Schoppa, Marilyn Schoppa Ramirez, Deborah Costa, Don Beck, Max Beck, Nell Truitt, Raylyn Monroe, Tracey Anderson, Carolyn Compton and Patsy Pier.\r\n\r\nJohanna lived her life in preparation for this event, arriving at her eternal home. She was full of spunk, independence, compassion and a passion for her Lord and Savior. She cherished her First Baptist church family and Sunday School class and would volunteer to serve wherever she could. Working in the garden was her version of heaven on this earth and would generously share her bounty. Spending time with her would always reveal surprises. While living in California, she had owned her own beauty shop and then the war began. She became a "Rosie the Riveter," and worked inside the plane's wings since she was small enough to get inside. She and her husband had Billy Graham for dinner when he was holding a Los Angeles crusade. Indian indigents received yearly donations, as did other needy groups, although she really had a heart for the Indians. She loved to sing, although she claimed she didn't have a good voice. She loved a cup of hot coffee, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chocolate. And, she loved to laugh. Oh, did she laugh! That twinkle in her eyes would glow! She was ready to go "home," yet she was looking forward to her next birthday, believing turning 104 would make her the oldest in the nursing home. She loved her doctor. After having a stroke, she said it wasn't so bad as the hospital had assigned Dr. Grocki to tend to her and he became her doctor. She was thankful for those friends who helped care for her: Maxine, Audrey, Phil, Lynn, Gina, and the staff at Brookdale, and her relatives who called her frequently and will now miss her conversations, laughter and love. Enjoy your reunion with those who went before you and feeling the warmth of being in the presence of Jesus. We'll see you soon, sweet friend.\r\n\r\nServices will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Rev. James Ervin, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. \r\n\r\n
