Jessie Laverne Taylor Rogers, passed away at 3:58 PM on December 2, 2015 at Kindred Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. She was born near Mabank, but in Van Zandt County, Texas on February 8, 1926.\r\n \r\nAlways loving and caring of others, she was known for her sweetness and Christian values. \r\n \r\nShe was a widow for 7 years. Her husband of 60 years, Mack Thornton Rogers, passed away September 14, 2008. They were married on February 14, 1948. They met where she was working, The Coffee Cup Café, in Texarkana, Texas. He was back from the Army after World War II and working as an electrical lineman. She was back near her parents in Texas after her war-time job in the soldering department at Boeing Air Craft in Seattle, Washington.\r\n \r\nAlong with her husband, she was preceded in death by her older sister, Jeffie Loie Miller of Gainesville, Missouri.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her younger sister, Mary Jo Roberts of Jefferson, Texas and younger brother, John Charles Taylor and wife, Brenda of Mountain Home, Arkansas. She is also survived by her children, Virginia Loye "Ginger" and husband, Corwin Collins of Dallas, Mack Graham Rogers and wife, Alberta Bettisworth of Seligman, Arizona and Zachary Steven Rogers of Hamilton, Texas; grandchildren, Cathyrn Collins, Christopher Shawn Collins and wife, Melissa, Candyce and husband, Allen Canaday, and Cinnamon Collins; 12 great grandchildren; and additional family, loved ones and friends. \r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015, 2 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\n
