Jessie Sue Cox, age 64 of Kerrville, passed away peacefully from complications with COPD and a broken hip on Peterson Hospice on Friday, January 12, 2018, in her childhood home. She was surrounded by her loving family.\r\n\r\nJessie was born December 9, 1953 in Sayer, Oklahoma to Leonard and Martha (Bradford) Brigham. Shortly after she was born, her family moved to Kerrville, Texas where she attended school.\r\n\r\nOn March 8, 1971 she was united in marriage to Michael Ray Cox in a little white church in downtown Kerrville. They spent the early years of their marriage in the Texas Hill Country raising children and hunting deer. In the mid 80's, they moved to Springhill, Kansas. There they lived on a 160-acre farm where they grew crops and raised various livestock.\r\n\r\nJessie was a mother and homemaker. Outside the home her last employment was in the document control department at B/E Aerospace in Lenexa, Kansas. They moved back to Kerrville in October 2013 and resided in Jessie's family home.\r\n\r\nJessie was full of spunk and was quite mischievous, eager to joke and make a deal. She would always go the extra mile for her kids - even going to school with them to improve their grades. She loved reading and watching movies, from westerns to horror. She was known to always have a 20-oz. bottle of Coca-Cola in her hand. She was generally creative in all that she did. She was adventurous as she loved roller coaster rides and jumping the railroad tracks in her Suburban. She had a heart for people and would help anyone in need. She could also put on a spread of food and made the best coconut cream pie and hot chocolate. Jessie was known for her flair for "Fire Dance" and her proud off-key singing.\r\n\r\nJessie is survived by her husband, Michael Cox, one son, Farrell Cox of Kerrville and three daughters, Michelle (Jeremy) Ebner of Boerne, Texas, Gina (Rick) Manning of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Goldie (Kelley) Schneider of Kerrville, Texas. They have ten grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Aubrey and Jacob Manning, Madison and Shelby Ebner, Nick Cox, Nevaeh Cox and Cadence, Olivia and Michael Schneider; one sister, Ruthie (Mark) Harvey, a brother-in-law, Ronnie Likin and many nieces, nephews and friends.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patsy Likin.\r\n\r\nAll funeral plans are to be intimate with only the family.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
