Gerald 'Jerry' O'Brien of Kerrville, Texas has gone to be with our Lord. Jerry passed away peacefully at his home due to complications of leukemia on September 26, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas at the age of 78. He was born to Jerome and Sylvia O'Brien on October 14, 1937 in Houston, Texas. Jerry was married to Barbara Jennings on June 10, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada.\r\n \r\nJerry attended school in Houston and graduated in 1955 from Jeff Davis High School where he was involved with National Honor Society, Student Council and ROTC. Jerry and Barbara were owners of APT-II Products. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville and attended the Faith Alive Sunday School class. Jerry loved to read books and always had a story or a joke to tell for his friends.\r\n \r\nJerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Patrick O'Brien, mother, Sylvia Hicks O'Brien Taylor and Stepfather, Leon Jacob Taylor.\r\n \r\nJerry O'Brien is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara O'Brien, son, Mark O'Brien and wife, Debbie, daughter, Julie Fox and husband, David, stepson, Ronny Hooker and wife, Karen, stepson, Michael Hooker and son, Jerry S. O'Brien.\r\n \r\nJerry is survived by one brother, Kenneth O'Brien, of New Caney, Texas.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by six grandchildren, Jerry Robert O'Brien, Marshall Fox, Samantha Fox, Sara Halfmann and husband, Jake, Chris Hooker and Katie Hooker. Jerry is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Kyndel Halfmann and a host of nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Kerrville on October 14, 2016 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to First United Methodist Church or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.\r\n
