Jerry Arthur Dinsmore, 73 of Ingram, TX passed away January 2, 2018 in a San Antonio, TX hospital with his family at his side. Jerry was born May 1, 1944 in Logan, IA to Arthur Laverne "Pete" and Lola Edith Dinsmore. He was one of three children with two sisters, Charlene and Marilyn.\r\n \r\nJerry and his family lived in Logan until 1950 and then across Oregon following his father Pete's job working constructing the highway. They returned to Logan around 1955 and he attended Country School south of Logan then Logan High school.\r\n \r\nJerry married Ella Lee on May 1, 1965 in Logan and they had three boys, Brian, Wayne and Greg. He drove truck over the road, then opened an automotive body shop in Logan. He returned to driving truck for many years. They lived in Iowa, California and returned to Iowa. They retired to their home in Ingram, TX.\r\n \r\nJerry's hobbies included drag racing, buying and selling cars, car clubs and competing in car shows with his 1956 Belair with his grandsons, Logan and Cameron. His deep passion for cars was shared with his sons, Brian and Greg.\r\n \r\nJerry and Ella had a love like no other. They were always together and if apart for any short time it was the sweetest reunion. They were together driving truck over the road and in all of their adventures. On their 50th anniversary, Jerry wanted to surprise his beautiful bride with a vow renewal. It was a beautiful ceremony of love and strength. Theirs is a love that will live on forever.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by wife of almost 53 year, Ella Lee Dinsmore of Ingram, TX; three sons, Brian Arthur Dinsmore of Logan, IA and his wife Kebra, Wayne Dinsmore of Omaha, NE, and Gregory Lee Dinsmore of Kerrville, TX and his wife Candace; 11 grandchildren: Wayne's children-Danny Dinsmore of Kentucky, Levi Dinsmore of Ingram, Jeff Brown of Nebraska, Jesse Brown of Iowa, Mikalya of Iowa, Misty of Iowa, and Wyatt of Nebraska; Greg's children-Shelby Dinsmore of Center Point, TX, Logan, Cameron and Mackenzie Dinsmore of Kerrville, TX; 4 great-grandchildren, Kenzie Elizabeth of Harper, TX (Danny), Brendan and Braden (Levi), Ian Brown of Iowa (Jesse); and sister, Marilyn Myer and her husband Edwin of Logan, IA.\r\n \r\nHe was predeceased by his parents, Arthur "Pete" (9/20/1989) and Lola Edith (2/10/2010); sister, Charlene Lois (9/2/2011); and his beloved dogs, Cody and Petey.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, TX with interment following in the Nichols Cemetery.\r\n
