Janis Sells

May 16, 1926 — October 3, 2015

Janis Sells, daughter of Marion and Erma Moffett of Medina, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the age of 89. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by Marcus, her husband of almost 62 years. She is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kirby) Jones, Colton, Carter and Shevawn; great-grandchildren, Maverick and McKenna Jones. She is also survived by her sister, Lola Barton.\r\n\r\nShe received her degree from Sul Ross University, and worked for several organizations in San Antonio, more notably Southwest Research Institute and Church's Fried Chicken, from which she retired as Corporate Secretary. After she and her husband retired to Bandera, she worked part-time for what is now Wells Fargo Bank where she was in charge of their First Ladies program. Here she got to meet and enjoy the company of many of Bandera's finest. Although she had a strong work ethic, the only thing of real importance to her was her family. She always appreciated the opportunity of being so near them and getting to observe first-hand their many activities and accomplishments.\r\n\r\nHer membership in Grace Lutheran Church was always a source of comfort and pleasure, and in lieu of flowers, she would request that memorials be made to Grace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1226, Bandera, Texas, 78003, and Noah's Ark Day Care at the same address, or of course a charity of your choice. \r\n\r\nThe family would like to express their gratitude to River City Hospice for their outstanding care and support.\r\n\r\nA funeral service will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with interment to follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina with Rev. Russ Lambert officiating.
