Janet Rose Maltman,70, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life and went to our Heavenly Fathers arms on November 9, 2015. She was born October 27, 1945 in Hudson, Michigan to Marolyn Elisabeth Peck Ebbert and Howard Jay Ebbert. \r\n \r\nAt the age of 2, Janet Rose and her family moved to Tombstone, AZ. She later attended school in Picacho, AZ, Gila Bend, AZ, and she graduated from High school in Casa Grande, AZ.\r\n \r\nIn 1963, Janet moved to California, and graduated from Oceanside Business School. She married Frank Dvorak in 1964, moved to Denver, Colorado, and became the proud mother of two wonderful children, Kimberley in 1966, and Kraig in 1968.\r\n \r\nIn 1970, Janet and her family moved back to California, where she went to work for the San Diego County Water Authority. She was employed by the water authority for over 30 years, and served as the Executive Secretary to the Board of Directors. During that time Janet and Frank ended their marriage.\r\n \r\nIt was no secret that Janet Rose had a love and passion for horses. While living in California she was very active in the Palomar Riders Horse Club for many years. One memorable ride for Janet Rose was when she rode a mule to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She also participated in a ten day trail ride with Anne Stradling, founder of the Museum of the Horse which is now a part of the Hubbard Museum in Ruidoso, NM.\r\n \r\nIn 1984, Janet Rose met, and married her true love, Donald Maltman, and she became the step-mother to two wonderful daughters, Donna and Debbie.\r\n \r\nNot long after Janet and Don retired, they moved to Kerrville, TX on September 11, 2001. Janet Rose soon decided that she wanted to be active in her community and became a member of the Kerr County Republican Party. She served three years as the President of The Republican Women of Kerr County, and was elected as the Kerr County Republican Chairman. She served as chairman for three years.\r\n \r\nJanet Rose was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, James Frederick Ebbert.\r\n \r\nJanet Rose is survived by Donald, her loving husband of 31 years; daughter, Kimberley Del Toro and her husband Mark of Harper, TX; son, Kraig Dvorak of Kerrville; step-daughters, Donna Maltman of San Diego, CA, and Debbie Rigler of San Diego, CA; and brother, John Jay Ebbert of Cleveland, ND. She is also survived by 6 wonderful grandchildren, Elizabeth Smalley of Lake City, AR, Dalton Dvorak of Austin, TX, Chance Dvorak of Moscow, ID, Alex Del Toro, and Angeleena Del Toro of Harper, TX, and Michael Molina of San Diego, CA.\r\n \r\nThere will be a memorial service held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nJanet Rose has requested that in-lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, and to the Cailloux Humane Society.
