James E. Uecker, 74 passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in a San Antonio hospital following complications from a stroke. He had been a resident of Bandera, Texas since 2003.\r\n\r\nJames was born August 26, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Vivian Mergle Uecker and Stanley L. Uecker. He was their only child. He was raised in San Antonio and graduated from East Central High School. He received further education from Texas A & M Water Treatment School. He worked fifteen years for the San Antonio River Authority and fifteen years for SAWS. On April 5, 1996 he and Bonnie Swisher were united in marriage in San Antonio, Texas.\r\n\r\nJames was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his friends from "The Trees" and his neighbor Debra Weathers who did what she could to help after he became incapacitated.\r\n\r\nA visitation will take place beginning at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. James will be laid to rest next to his wife Bonnie at Cover Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Burial will be private.\r\n
