James Howard Ennis, born in Port Neches, Texas on February 2, 1926, went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2017 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nJames served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He married Billie Blanche Bumstead upon being discharged. They had three children, Syndey, Ben and Terri; five grandchildren: Bradley, Jeff, Justin, Jenna, and Jamie; XI great grandchildren: Emily, Avry, Trey, Kiley, Madison and Jayden.\r\n \r\nJames went into the Christian ministry and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He served churches in Port Arthur, Texas; Weatherford, Texas; Odessa, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Fort Smith, Arkansas; and San Antonio, Texas. Following his retirement, he founded a church in Bandera, Texas and served churches in Lake Hills, Texas; and Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nIn 2000 James' wife Billie Blanche went home to be with the Lord. \r\n \r\nIn 2001, he married Jackie Gaconnet from Weatherford, Texas. She being a recording artist joined him in leading churches. She sang in many churches and had a ministry of her own. Jackie had three children, Rick, Jackie and James. She always wanted six children, and as the two families joined she said, "Now I have six."\r\n \r\nJames' word for all is "Don't grieve as those who have no hope. This is just a homecoming celebration."\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held 3-5 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 11 AM, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Dr. George Harris and Malcom Granger.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peterson Hospice.\r\n
