James Eastland

James Moulton Eastland, 34, of Hunt, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2015. He was born in Kerrville, Texas to Dick and Tweety Eastland on February 27, 1981. He married Lindsay Kaye Albrecht on May 6, 2005 in Austin, Texas.\r\n James went to Tivy High School in Kerrville where he was active in sports. He was captain and played tight end on the football team, and excelled on the soccer team as a fullback his senior year. \r\n James loved camping as a child and attended Camp Rio Vista, Camp Stewart, and Camp Longhorn. He became a counselor for Camp Rio Vista where his passion grew for working with and improving young people's lives. \r\n He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He graduated from UT with honors and with a degree in mechanical engineering. It was also at college where he met his beautiful wife Lindsay.\r\n He worked with Halliburton, Tom Green and Co. Engineers, Inc. and Hertel Insurors Group in Austin before realizing his life's work. In a recent Leadership profile, James said, "You can do anything you want in life, but it's better to do something you love." \r\n He returned to Hunt to help in the family business Camp Mystic, eventually becoming Vice President. He was committed to his work as a ministry and mission for serving God, providing an environment for young girls to form and deepen their own love of the Lord. Camp's purpose for James was to help campers develop life skills, increase self confidence and grow spiritually.\r\n He was a member of the Kerrville First United Methodist Church, served as a board member on the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce, served as past president of C.A.M.P (Camping Association for Mutual Progress), and was a graduate of Leadership Kerr County. James particularly loved his recent involvement with the Hunt Elementary School Eagle's Nest mentoring program, appreciating greatly their commitment to "providing a secure landing for those learning to fly."\r\n James loved God, his family and friends dearly. He was an inspiration to be around and was devoted to Lindsay and his two precious daughters, while keeping close relationships with all his friends and being a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father. He will be deeply missed by so many.\r\n James is survived by his wife Lindsay, his two daughters Caroline and Anna, his three brothers and their families: Richard and wife Leslie, children Carolyn Clare and Peggy Ann; Britt and wife Catie, children George, Charlie and Elizabeth; Edward and wife Mary Liz, children Edward, Andrew and Walker, as well as his parents Dick and Tweety.\r\n He is also survived by many aunts and uncles and their families: Anne Albritton and Jesus Ramos, Pat Harlow and husband John, George Albritton and wife Liz, Frank Albritton; Stacy Eastland and wife Tara, Nancy Leaton and husband Barry; cousins: Santiago, Olivia and William Ramos; Ann Genung and Patrick Genung; Ellie, Lizzy and George Albritton; Tara Eastland Leclerc and Gardner Eastland; Josh and Wren Leaton.\r\n James is preceded in death by his grandparents Anne and Seaborn Eastland, and George and Ann Albritton.\r\n Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville TX 78028. \r\n In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to honor James' work with The Hunt School, c/o James Eastland Mentoring Scholarship Fund, P.O.
