James Daniel Ii

James Daniel II was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born December 23, 1954 in Salzburg, Austria to James and Evelyn Daniel. He was raised in Clarence, Louisiana and moved to Los Angeles, California upon retirement of his father's military service. James accepted Christ at an early age. James joined the US Army in Los Angeles. After his time in the service, James moved back to Los Angeles and remained there until 1990. He moved to Kerrville, Texas in 1990. He was an MP in the Army, and was an MP at the Kerrville VA until he retired in 2015. He met and married Cheryl Ann Benson in 1991. He loved to cook, fish, ride his motorcycle and spend time with his adopted sons.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by both parents, James and Evelyn Daniel; his brother, John Daniel and his son, Jonathan Daniel.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Ann Daniel; his daughter, Rebecca Daniel (England); step-son, Karlton Benson (Victoria "Baby Girl"); adopted sons, Jaykwon and Jabari Benson; his sister, Joyce Bratcher (Charles) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Serenity Daniel and Vanessa Ferrell of Los Angeles; three nieces, Buffy, Nikki and Taneen; three nephews, Dijohn, Nelson and Landon; mother-in-law, Eloise Benson whom he loved dearly; and Godmother of cousins, Celestine Campbell of Gena, Louisiana.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nFuneral services with military honors will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Jimmie Finister.\r\n
