Jack Wood Stutts Jr., 76 of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 surrounded by family following a long illness.\r\n \r\nJack grew up in Dickinson, Texas and was the middle child of Jack Wood Sr. and Jimmie Lou Stutts along with sisters, Thiry and Duena. He put himself through college and graduated from the University of Houston while supporting his young family. He worked for 30 years at Marathon Oil in Texas City, Texas.\r\n \r\nHe loved the scenic beauty of the Rocky Mountains and took his family on many road trips to Colorado. When his kids were older, summer trips transitioned to ski vacations during winter and spring breaks.\r\n \r\nJack enjoyed woodworking, photo1graphy, and was an avid poker player winning several Texas Hold'em poker tournaments. He taught his wife to play, who also won tournaments, and he once participated in the famous World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jan Stutts; his son, Jack Stutts III; his daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Doan Shockley; and two grandchildren, Abbey and Houston Shockley.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.\r\n
