\r\nJack Saunders of Kerrville passed away on January 5, 2018 in Kerrville. He was born in Natalia, Texas to Mary Ann Saunders on April 8, 1928. He married Nellie York in 1950 in Valley Mills, Texas.\r\n\r\nJack attended Waco schools and was a veteran in the Army. During the Korean War, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas as a mechanic. Jack remained in the Army Active Reserves for 17 years. Jack was a long tenured maintenance employee for Waco ISD. During his retirement he was employed at Wal Mart where he took pride in assembling all of the outdoor equipment. \r\n\r\nJack is preceded in death my his wife, mother, and one sister. He is survived by two brothers, three sisters and special sister, Mary Farley and brother-in-law Jesse Odell of Kerrville.\r\n\r\nJack is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his family and his caregivers at Mt. Villa Assisted Living in Kerrville, where he was a resident for the past 4 years.\r\n\r\nThere will be no local services. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Valley Mills, Texas.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Alamo Hospice.
