Iva Rains

Iva Dee Rains, age 88 , of Kerrville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was born on December 15, 1926 in Kerrville to A.A. and Effie Burgess Carlile. On June 21, 1945, she married Leo Rains in Uvalde. \r\n \r\nMrs. Rains worked for over 30 years for James Avery Craftsman, retiring at age 80. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Kerrville. \r\n \r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Myra Lenard and husband Bascom of Kerrville; brother, Levi Carlile and wife Jan of Oregon; son-in-law, Charles Ahrens; grandchildren, Tony Lenard and wife Debra, Tamra Hinojosa and husband Oscar, Cody Ahrens, Chase Ahrens and wife Stephanie, Chad Ahrens and wife Amy, and Shelly Ahrens, all of Kerrville; great-grandchildren, Marty Lenard and wife Halya of Kerrville, Courtney Lenard of San Antonio, Harlie Pena, Rylee Hinojosa, John Ahrens, Taylor Ahrens, Tyler Ahrens, Tindall Ahrens, Tatum Ahrens, Hattie Ahrens, and Anderson Ahrens, all of Kerrville; and one great-great-granddaughter, Madea Lenard. Mrs. Rains was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Rains, daughter, Dianna Ahrens, son Duane Phillip Rains, sister, Mary Miller, and brother, John Carlile. \r\n \r\nA Memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29, at 2 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, with Rev. Frankie Enloe officiating. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her name to First Baptist Church of Kerrville, American Heart Association, and/or the American Cancer Society.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
