Isabelle Jacobs

Isabelle Jacobs, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on March 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 6, 1914 to Harry and Mamie Hoffman, and was married to Milton (Mike) Jacobs, her husband for over 72 years. Mike passed away in 2003 at the age of 92. At time of her death, Isabelle was 100 years old, having led a long and productive life. \r\n \r\nIsabelle was raised in New York but moved to Bermuda in 1946, along with her sons, Steven and Eric. Soon after arriving in Bermuda, she gave birth to her third son, Larry. In Bermuda, Isabelle worked for the Base Commander of Kindley Air Force Base, as well as the Commander of NASA, who had a tracking station in Bermuda for many years. Isabelle and Mike moved to Houston in 1970 where she worked for NASA as an Executive Secretary. Upon retirement in 1990, she and Mike moved to Kerrville. Both Isabelle and Mike were renowned bridge masters and routinely competed in international bridge tournaments both in Bermuda and abroad. Her many friends at Dietert Center can attest to her competitive spirit where she thoroughly enjoyed playing bridge for three times a week until a week before her death.\r\n \r\nIsabelle is survived by her three sons, Steven, Eric and Larry, her daughters-in-law, Jackie, Barbara and Sharon, her grand-children, Jason, Max and Robin, and Robin's husband Michael and son Lucas. \r\n \r\nThe family extends special gratitude to the Peterson Hospice who provided her excellent care in her home until her death, especially Chaplin James Carpenter, RN Lisa Davis, her caregiver Stacey Marin and her friend of many years Edna Mosley.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be on Thursday, April 2 at Grimes Funeral Chapels from 2-4 pm. \r\n \r\nA funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3rd at 10:00 am at Grimes Funeral Chapels followed by burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery. \r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
