Ira Bell Medlock Mattox, 85 of Kerrville, TX passed away on March 7, 2019 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Groesbeck, TX to Eshmeal Medlock, Sr. and Charlotte Bell Baker Medlock on June 14, 1933. She married Joe Clark (J.C.) Mattox on August 12, 1950 in Kerrville, TX. \r\n \r\nShe attended school in Groesbeck, TX. She graduated from Groesbeck High School. She worked multiple positions, lastly as a registrar at Camp Mystic in Hunt, TX for 60 years. She was an active and faithful member of Barnett Chapel United Methodist Church for 55 years, until her health no longer allowed her to attend services. She was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. Ira Bell was also a member of the Senior Choir, Trustee Secretary, Administrative Board Secretary, United Methodist Women's President and Heritage Banquet Committee Chairperson. \r\nShe was active in the community and was instrumental in having the traffic light installed at the intersection of Schreiner and Hays Streets. \r\n \r\nIra Bell is preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Baker Medlock, her father Eshmeal Medlock, Sr., her sister Odessa Medlock, and her brother Eshmeal Medlock, Jr. \r\n \r\nIra Bell is survived by her husband Joe Clark (J.C.) Mattox; daughter Karen Mattox; Godchildren: Elayne Scott, Gussie Bowman, Clifton Scott, LeGena Mills, Lacey Mills, Cameron Harris, Gretchen Stacy and Thomas Stacy. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great neices and nephews and Sisters in law, Georgia Washington, Bennie Myers, Ollie and husband, Donnie Abbis and the Dick Eastland Family and Camp Mystic Family.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX 78028.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Dr., Kerrville, TX 78028 with Pastor David Payne, Dr. Clyde Clark and Rev. Morris Daugherty, officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, 3250 Fredericksburg Rd., Kerrville, TX 78028.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Richard Eastland, Britt Eastland, Edward Eastland, Max O. Reinbach III, Todd Hardee, Wallace Lewis.\r\n \r\nHonorary Pallbearers are Johnnie Fowler, Max O.
