Henry Acken Moon of Bear Paw Ranch, Kerrville, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016, after a long fight against several illnesses.\r\n \r\nBorn March 10, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, Henry was the second son of Dwight Charles Moon and Dorothy (Kruse) Moon and grew up in White Plains, New York, and Alexandria, Virginia.\r\n \r\nHenry was lucky enough to marry Glenda Kay Skinner, daughter of Ival Francis Skinner and Mildred Jeanette (Glenn) Skinner, July 25, 1959, in Arlington, Virginia.\r\n \r\nHank was a proud and active member of the Alpha Tau Omega (Delta Chapter) fraternity at the University of Virginia (Charlottesville) and remained life-long friends with many of his ATO brothers. He graduated from U.V.A. with a Bachelor of Arts degree in August, 1961.\r\n \r\nHank worked for Gulf Oil Corporation and B.F. Goodrich before settling in Kerrville in 1976 where he owned a GMC and tire/automotive franchise. Later, he worked for the local Budweiser distributor before retiring.\r\n \r\nHank liked to read and hunt and loved road trips with friends and cruising the high seas with his wife and a good cigar.\r\n \r\nHis granddaughters say their Grandpa Chops planned the World's Greatest Scavenger Hunts.\r\n \r\nHenry is survived by his lovely and loving wife, Kay, daughter, Laura (Moon) Kennedy, Linda (Moon) Logan and husband, Jeffrey Todd Logan and their daughters, Olga Glenn and Anastasia Katherine Logan, all of Coppell, Texas. He is also survived by brother, Tim Moon and Lavonne Moon of South Carolina and niece, Catherine (Moon) Ribar, husband, Dave Ribar of Melbourne, Australia, their sons, David and Matthew, and niece, Tina Moon of South Carolina.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.\r\n
