H.C. 'Robbie' Roberts, 92, of Kerrville, TX passed from this earth the evening of Monday, May 29th, 2017 on Memorial Day.\r\n \r\nHe was born in Frederick, Oklahoma on December 11, 1924 to parents Ira and Nettie Roberts. He served in the US Army for 20 years retiring as Master Sergeant and receiving a Meritorious Service medal. During that time he was a veteran of WWII serving in post-war Germany as a medical technician in an Army hospital. After, he worked for General Electric for sixteen years and for UT Medical Center for ten years. \r\n \r\nHe was also a Mason and a Shriner, helping to establish and oversee the Texas Children's Wheelchair Clinic in Tyler, TX. After his retirement he enjoyed going on RV trips around the country before settling in Mountain Home, then Kerrville. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Jubilee Sunday School.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcell (Trantham) Roberts; both parents; and six siblings.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Virginia Roberts; two sons, Gary Roberts and Stephan Roberts; three grandchildren, Nancy Koch and husband Russ Culbertson, Emily (Roberts) Cole and husband Bobby, and Matthew "Steve" Roberts and wife Erica Smith; two great-grandchildren, Dex Culbertson and Cade Culbertson.\r\n \r\nExtended family include, Ronald Johnson and wife Marilyn; granddaughter, Rebecca (Johnson) Racey and husband Stephen; Michael and Beverly Keck and family; Larry and Garilyn McCorkle and family; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be 5-7pm, Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nFuneral services will be at 10am, Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastors John Wheat and Chris Christopherson officiating. On Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at 11:30am, he will be laid to rest in Cathedral in the Pines in Tyler, TX next to his first wife, Marcell.\r\n \r\nMemorials can be sent to Trinity Baptist Church Forward by Faith or Christian Assistance Ministry, both in Kerrville, TX.\r\n \r\nHe was a great father, grandfather, and friend and will be very missed.
