Harold O. Topping (Harry) of Kerrville, passed away on August 1, 2018 after a short hospitalization in San Antonio. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with the memorial service beginning at 11 on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Kerrville. Lunch will follow. \r\n\r\nHarry was born in Mobile, AL on July 20, 1951 to Edwina and Harold Topping Sr. He grew up in Victoria, TX and graduated from Victoria High School in 1969. From there, he served in the US Air Force, being trained in electronics and stationed at Austin's Bergstrom Air Force Base as a radar technician. \r\n\r\nWhen he left the Air Force, he married his bride of 41 years, Kathy Haworth, and began a 34-year career in the petroleum electronics field in positions ranging from bench technician, service technician, service manager, sales rep and marketing and customer service vice president in California and Texas. He also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management at St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA. \r\n\r\nHarry was a person who loved God, his wife and family, his dog, guns, motorcycles, a hot cup of coffee, a good joke and the friends who will miss him. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife; sister-in-law Judy Chase of Fredericksburg; nephew Tyler Chase, wife Betty and sons Connor and Cooper of Bettendorf, IA; nephew Justin Chase, wife Jenni, son Jack and daughter Vivi of Littleton, CO; and cousins Karen Lee Burdolski and Pamela Moore, both of Kansas.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Hosanna Lutheran Church, Freeman Fritts Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Kerrville.\r\n\r\nThe family invites you to send condolences at www.grimesfuneralchapels.com by selecting the "Send Condolences" link. \r\n\r\n
