Harold Langfeld

February 21, 1938 — November 23, 2015

Harold John Langfeld was born February 21, 1938 in San Antonio, TX; preceded in death by parents Marie and Allen Langfeld, brother George, sisters, Dorothy and Grace. Mildred resides in San Antonio. Harold entered his final resting place with his Lord and Savior at age 77 from his home in Helotes, TX on November 23, 2015. All children and grandchildren were in attendance with love and prayers as his body left for the funeral chapel.\r\n\r\nHarold owned/operated Alamo City Electric Company for years, worked/retired after 25 years as Supervisor of Electric Shop at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital. He obtained a Master Electrician and Master Air-Conditioning License after faithfully serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Africa for three years and took great delight in telling stories and adventures including buying/repairing rare vehicles and motorcycles and racing them. He felt so badly for the starving African natives that anytime he could acquire a permit to kill an animal, he would share the meat with them. His compassion and generosity made natives cry when his tour of duty was completed. After retiring from the VA he and son, Mike, repaired and installed water wells. He was no longer able to manually perform tasks, after his debilitating stroke May 17, 2010, but with his great reservoir of knowledge consulted and advised sons, Mark and Mike on many jobs; they are most grateful for the skills acquired from their father.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene Joy Krueger Langfeld, sons Mark and Michael and daughter Melissa. Grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Shane, Payton, Breanna, Jonathan, Luke and Braelyn. Great-Grandchildren Lexi, Caidyn and Wyatt. Many loving nieces and nephews also brought him great joy. He also made many friends that will miss him greatly.\r\n\r\nA "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, December 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Helotes Country Club.
