James Ray "Hackett" Hagan passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 after a courageous two-year battle with prostate cancer. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Keri Hagan, his children, Jesse Hagan and wife Sarah, Catricia Vinyard, Christopher Williams, Mallory Williams, granddaughter Lillie Hagan and two (little angels on their way) soon to be born grandchildren, Lincoln and Reagan. He is also survived by his 2nd Mom Kathryn Wahrmund , Uncle Walter Wahrmund, cousins Karen (Chuck) Storms, Allan Wahrmund and his sons Shane, Eric and Brian, Dennis (Alice) Wahrmund and their son Richard, Marian (Jon) Cox and their son Kyle Gallie, Kenneth (Micki) Jenschke and their sons Cody and Corey, David (Toni) Wahrmund and their children Andrea, Christopher and Diane. He was preceded in death by his mother Viola (Wahrmund) Lehne, Aunt Mary Jenschke and Uncles' Alonzo Wahrmund and Ervin Wahrmund.\r\n\r\nHackett was born in San Antonio, TX on November 22, 1958 and lived most of his childhood in Harper, TX. After graduating from Harper High School he went to work for Bexar Electric. \r\n\r\nHis career in retail began when he started working for the C.R. Anthony Co. In 1981 Rancher's Western Wear was opened and he became known as the "Hat Man". In 1991, he became the manager of Hill Country Western Wear.\r\n\r\nHackett had a passion for anything outdoors, from hunting and fishing to playing golf with his favorite cousins. \r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank the following for the compassionate care they provided to Hackett: Peterson Hospice, Davita Dialysis, Dr. Valerian Chyle, Dr. Rebecca Barrington, Dr. Ralph Fritzsch, Dr. Chuck O'Donnell, Dr. Christopher Glanton, and all of the staff members and nurses that took such good care of him.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville, with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.
