Herbert Lee "H.L." Washburn, 83 of Center Point, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1934 in Lampasas, TX to Charles E. Washburn and Nell Washburn Schultze.\r\n \r\nHe went to school in Llano and Ingram schools and worked most of his life for cement companies, retiring from Edmund Jenschke. \r\n \r\nHe was a licensed pastor in Baptist churches for years and was a deacon for the Baptist church.\r\n \r\nHe loved to go to his favorite spot in Buchanan Dam to camp and fish. He loved to go buy watermelons from the Valley and sell watermelons and pecans for many years.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Sue Washburn; parents, Charles E. Washburn and Nell Washburn Schultze; brothers, Ed Washburn Jr., Mack Washburn and Kenneth Washburn; sister, Shirley Jean Washburn; nephew, Tony Washburn and niece, Laura Connell.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include daughters, Maira Washburn of Center Point, Peggy Ann Hodges of Ingram and Linda Jean Green of Kerrville; brothers, Ollie Washburn of Justin, TX and Floyd Washburn of Center Point; sisters, Glenda Washburn of Cleburne, TX; son-in-law, Agapito Cruz of Center Point; grandchildren, Isabel Cruz, Marla Thompkins, Cody Watson, Kevin Watson, Tasha Broderick and Jobeth Neubaum; great grandchildren, Bradley and Kristen Kennedy, Payton, Paige and Codi Runyan, Malakya Watson, Haiden and Zoe Broderick and Josslyn Green.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Nichols Cemetery officiated by Rev. Frankie Enloe.\r\n \r\nSpecial thanks to Floyd Washburn for all that you have done, and to Peterson Home Health and Peterson Hospice including Julie Robertson, Rick and Lisa, and all the wonderful nurses he had.\r\n
