Gwen Medders, 85 of Ingram, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nMrs. Medders was born June 26, 1930 in Eola, Texas to Leonard and Neta Phillips. \r\n \r\nShe was a housewife, but was a Sunday School teacher for most of her adult life. Mrs. Medders was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to the Lord, her husband, and family.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Lynda Baker and husband, Larry Baker of Ingram, Texas; sisters, Becky McAdams of Longview, Texas, Dona Johnston of Daingerfield, Texas, Sondra Taylor of Gilmer, Texas and Wanda Walker of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nMrs. Medders was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie Medders; brother, Billie Phillips and sister, Eva Lois Holloway.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held 5-7 PM, Friday, February 12, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nServices will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Sunrise Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Mel Hardin. Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunrise Baptist Church Building Fund.\r\n \r\n \r\n
