Gwen Alexander, age 82 of Pipe Creek, Texas passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 in a Boerne care facility.\r\n\r\nShe was born November 30, 1936 in Cameron, Texas to Dorothy Herber McCullin and Foster Ray McCullin. Gwen grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Brackenridge High School. On June 24, 1955 Gwen was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Alexander at St. John's Lutheran Church in San Antonio. Gwen and Jerry have been residents of Pipe Creek, Texas since 1974. She worked at the Bandera Co-op and also enjoyed her job at Everett's.\r\n\r\nGwen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mavoreen Warren. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Jerry Lee Alexander of Pipe Creek; daughters Melanie Farias and husband Victor of Boerne; Yvette Alexander of Bandera and De'Anna Alexander of Pipe Creek; grandchildren Victor Lee Farias and wife Jennifer, Jason Wayne Farias and wife Bethel; great grandchildren Olivia Nicole, Mia Elizabeth, Jonah Michael and Caleb Alexander; sister in law Barbara Jean Ferguson and husband Frank; brother in law Woodrow Warren; nephew Malcolm Warren; nieces Sherri, Shelli and Shanna as well as many other extended family members and treasured friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends at a visitation on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, Texas. A Celebration of Gwen's life will take place Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with interment to follow at the Pipe Creek Cemetery.
